My wife and I have known Eric since 2003 when working with him to build our home in Providence Downs. The entire building process was smooth and he was a pleasure to work with during construction. We were thrilled with the quality of the home he built for us and we were consistently impressed by the subcontractors he chose to hire.

Our experience in 2003 was very positive and when the time came to build our current home in Firethorne, we once again chose Eric in 2013. Eric once again was very professional and built for us a wonderful custom home. The quality of the home and custom features were exactly what we were hoping for. We heard from many of his subcontractors throughout the process and they frequently commented how much they enjoyed working with him. Many of them helped with our initial home back in 2003 which speaks not only to the consistent quality of their work with him, but also the relationships he has made in the custom home building industry over the years. He was always was accessible during the entire home building experience and that continues even several years after he finished our home.

"Eric Gutt was the prime contractor on my personal home. The home has 6,300 ft2 of heated living area and another 1,400 ft2 of unfinished basement. The heated living area consists of two stories and 1400 ft2 of finished walk‐out basement. The home contains many high end features including walnut hardwood floors, detailed crown molding, coffered ceilings, vaulted ceilings, stone fireplaces, wood paneling, custom built‐ins, a circular main staircase, custom cabinetry, and foam insulation. It contains a master suite with his/hers walk‐in closet, 3 bedrooms with full baths, bonus room, living room, dining room, office, and kitchen and great room. The exterior is brick and fieldstone.

We chose our basic plan and Eric was able to help us modify it to better suit our needs. A major change was the addition of a full basement. We experienced some challenges with our site. There was barely enough change in elevation to accommodate the full basement. Eric was able to finesse the home’s location and work with the excavated soil, moving some to the front, to create enough slope for the basement.

We are truly happy with the home. We still occasionally talk about how well it turned out. The home is solidly built, quiet, and energy efficient. We’ve had no issues with squeaky floors, molding separating, or doors or windows sticking. The basement is warm and dry and we fully utilize it. It was our first experience in building a home and it exceeded all our expectations. I don’t hesitate to recommend Eric as a builder."

" I’m writing this letter of recommendation for Eric Gutt who built our house (~8100 heated square feet) in 2013. I designed the house with an architect and Eric took it from there, building a unique and wonderful house for our family. Everything was completed on time and on budget, the craftsmanship was exceptional and Eric was a pleasure to work with. We have not had a single problem with the structure or any of the systems since moving in a few years ago. After construction was completed, Eric has been responsive to my occasional questions about things I couldn’t recall and recommendations for whom to hire for an odd job here or there, which was certainly not required but has been appreciated.
